ABC’s Bachelorette is engaged to Roberto-San Diego will be their new address

Ali and Roberto-no longer in hiding

After watching ABC’s The Bachelorette finale last night, 11.6 million viewers found out some important facts, like Ali and Roberto are moving to San Diego. Chris Harrison sound off on, ATFR, questions viewers couldn’t to find out the answers, while these two love birds giggled and cuddled with complete adornment for one another.

Ali even states to Chris, “He loves me so much,” with such pride it almost broke the cameras. The question is, does Ali just like being adored, or is there really true love behind her eyes, too? Only time will tell.

As a San Diego resident, it was shocking to hear that they were moving here to reside in this city. I guess you can’t blame the would be displaced couple. With Ali leaving Facebook and Roberto still aiming for the pros in baseball, San Diego has just what they are looking for: a drive accessible to Los Angeles for their many celebrity appearances in the next six months.

There are even rumors now that they will be one of the dancing couples on Dancing with the Stars, which will be announce on ABC’s newest reality show, Bachelor Pad on the fourth episode. Will Roberto with his salsa moves make the perfect dance partner for Ali? We will have wait and see…

With a quick recap of last night’s show, the most touching moment of the two hour finale was not watching Ali accept her proposal to Roberto . No. The scene that won over this San Diego resident’s heart was the rainbow that appeared right after Chris L got the boot from Ali. With good intentions at heart, Ali rambled off, “I’m in love with another man.” She then explained to him that she did not want him to go the rose ceremony, because she cares so much about his feelings. Then Ali exited the hut as fast as she could. Of course, she did need one more hug just so she could run off and fluff her dress for her big proposal.

As jilted Chris was left alone to understand how it was possible he would be unlucky in love…Then he looked up and saw the most perfect rainbow stretched out across the emerald green waters of Bora Bora. “It was a sign from my mom that everything would be okay,” (His mother had recently died).

That touching scene stole the thunder right out of Ali’s “I do.” Let’s just hope that Chris considers finding love as ABC’s next Bachelor, that is if he accepts an offer.

He might be just a touch too classy to reveal anymore of his soul to reality television. However, if he does, ABC can count on some big ratings from Chris L..

Jillian and Ed Split/The Bachelorette

Jillan with that Ed, that has obviously been paid off by the producers

I just heard about this split today. The way I found out honestly is because last week my website received a lot of traffic and I kept trying to figure out what it could be since I don’t really write here that much for reality shows. Well, soon found out that Jillian and Ed broke up. I had written quite a bit on Jillian’s season of the Bachelorette…so I guess it’s still listed on Google. That’s not what’s important. What I wanted to say to others out there is, how sad I was to find out the news. I really like those two as a couple. From the first impression rose, to Ed’s departure to go back to work, to his returning, I really liked their personalities.
We are always quick to condemn reality stars and to make fun of their break-ups, but why would anyone do that? Like Jake and Vienna for instance. I dislike Jake’s personality, however, I feel for him as a person and I’m sure he will be just fine.

Jillian and Ed have been together over one year, so their relationship did stand the test of time, with relocations to Chicago, and all of that behind the scene gossip with Ed in the beginning. I’m sure each will plunge back into their own identies and make it just fine.
However, as a viewer of that one special season, I find myself feeling like an ‘era has ended’ in reality t.v. somehow with the demise of this couple. Classy and sophisticated, these two looked like a match and I kept waiting for the wedding on ABC. Call me a sap, call me what you want, but I really thought Jillian was top noch, and next to Ed they sort of rocked it as a ‘hot couple.’
Now there are these stories about her having to return the ring. If it’s not bad enough they must endure a public split, people are making fun of that part of the equation, too. I’m not sticking up for reality t.v. I am however asking those viewers that sit there so ardently and judge as a view to remember they are just normal couple with feelings, too. Good luck to both parties. If I had to choose a side (I haven’t really dug into why the broke up, but my imagination can pretty much fill in the details), but of course, it would be Jillian Harris. The best bachelorette I’ve seen ever on ABC. Good luck Jillian. Machel Penn Shull

ABC’s True Beauty- Amy’s departure

  • Posted on July 12, 2010 at 11:49 pm

After watching tonight’s Reality Show-True Beauty, I thought I would personally address the girl that was voted off tonight-Amy.
Amy, just know that this was only a reality show. You do have inner beauty and some of the ‘pass/fail’ set ups are ridiculous.
I personally would have liked to see you stay, and the other guy go.
You did an amazing job on the show, and you looked beautiful. The show is about true beauty and you have it.
You looked gorgeou on camera, you passed many of the hidden camera tests, and ultimately, they have to let someone go. I hope that after watching the season air you see that you were amazing and the show is just rather fluffy and fun. You do have beauty within, and don’t forget that. Keep a stiff upper lip and go forward in your journey knowing you were terrific. I hope that you receive some perks for all of your screen time. And take from someone that has been on a reality show, it’s just a show, and they are just trying to make ratings anyway they can. Good luck, and be brilliant! Machel Penn Shull

Jake/Vienna Split-ABC’s The Bachelor

  • Posted on July 11, 2010 at 4:17 pm

Okay, I didn’t think I would cover any more reality TV., but last Monday night’s episode with the Jake/Vienna split was the funniest thing I’ve seen on television in years. I’m on team ‘Vienna’ here. I thought Jake came off as this absolutely pompous jerk, with absolutely no sensitivity whatsoever. When he started to describe “It’s been quite a week…I’m on the cover of 5 magazines this week,” well we can just get the visual of Jake running to the supermarket as much as he can to see his big mug plastered everywhere.
My favorite line from Jake was when he started recounting how he had ‘measured the furniture perfectly’. Now we know why Jillian Harris booted this guy off early in her round of the Bachelorette. It still astonishes me that he beat out Kiptyn for the last Bachelor. I sat there on my bed laughing hysterically at how Jake thought he was so calm and collected, when really he just looked like a ‘mean snake’ (Midwest expression). I actually felt empathy for Vienna. I could tell that she genuinely loved this guy. She thought she had found Mr. Right and he ended up being a Dancing wannabe. I don’t blame Vienna one bit for taking her story to the media. Jake has been ruling the roost with their relationship and we all know what other rumors are about him, but I don’t want to mention them here. Jason and Molly Engaged

Jason and Molly engaged
Jason and Molly engaged

It’s official: Molly and Jason are engaged. Yes, the couple that everyone loves to detest, the couple that received so much bad press as Melissa Rycroft danced her way into America’s heart, have finally arrived where they left the bubbles in the bath tub in New Zealand this October.

If you recall, New Zealand was the gorgeous backdrop of Jason’s season of ABC’s The Bachelor-the one that launched Jillian Harris into Bachelorette history as the coolest Canadian chick in town-where he dumped Molly and he had chosen Melissa as the winner of that season. Well, that felt like five minutes to television viewers because we all remember the ‘infamous switch-a-roo’ that had millions of viewers foaming at the mouth toward Molly and Jason.
Obviously most viewers are sophisticated enough to understand the inner workings of ‘reality tv’ and how could they unless they had been on a show? Ask me I know. A reference, not worth mentioning at the moment. However, with some of the highest ratings ever in ABC’s history of the Bachelor, Mike Fleis knew just what he was doing when he plotted that ending. No facts here, pure speculation.  My point is, I could never understand why everyone hated Jason so much. At least he admitted he made an error and corrected it immediately. So nooow finally the two have arrived back where they began as the two together in the land down below. I personally wish Molly and Jason all the best. I think they made a fine couple. I am thrilled to hear the good news.
ABC’s The Bachelor always leaves was wanting more. I’m sure I will still watch next season’s show, even thought Jake made it as the man with the Rose.
Thank goodness love has prevailed for a cute gorgeous couple, such as Molly and Jason!
Looks like they are having the last laugh on all of us, including ABC. m

PATRICK SWAYZE dies today.

  • Posted on September 15, 2009 at 7:30 am

Patrick-Swayze-Johnny-Castle-patrick-swayze-3108859-400-500 When the man that hung on your wall in as your poster pin-up dies, you realize life you aren’t 18 anymore. Patrick Swayze died today. I just read that when I checked into my yahoo account. Life sometimes has a way of reminding us who we once were through the loss of others. My condolences to his beautiful family firstly, but what I want to share with you is how this man’s spirit touched mine through his acting at an early age. I know you are thinking Dirty Dancing here. However, I discovered Patrick Swayze in a wonderful television miniseries–”North and South”. You know one of those six episodes in the fall and you had to wait for the spring to see the ending…I can still hear the melody to this show in my head as Patrick swept Leslie Ann Down off her feet in this epic civil war drama. I am smiling now. I am remembering how I ran home to see each episode and how waiting six more months to see the finale was almost a lifetime at that age. That summer–I think–my time line might be off a bit here–Dirty Dancing came out and then all of my friends fell in love with Patrick Swayze, too.
I was upset about that movie becoming such a hit, because up until that time I had been the only teenager at my school with the poster of him on my wall. I remember the Christmas I bought it, I remember the mall, the store, the tape on the wall, and my hard wood paneling that I stuck it to and how I wished I had wall paper like my girlfriends did in town (I finally got wallpaper my senior year!).
I don’t want to be sad here, yet, as I think about this man’s career, his unexpected early absence from life I am saddened to know that he is gone from us now. I am saddened to know that time has marched on and eventually does indeed catch up with us. To think of that image in the wall of my room in high school makes me feel excited again for some reason, like that untouched age of innocence when teenage girls idolize men in a way they soon learn not to with age.
Today Patrick Swayze died and I am that girl who idolized him in high school. He was my poster guy in my teenage years. And, now
I touched by the loss of his passing. May his spirit dance on in the light of his next journey…if you believe in that sort of thing. I do anyway…

Reality Steve and his sick attraction to Wes Hayden

 Reality Steve finds his Match

After recently reading Reality Steve’s take on TMTA, which he failed to even recap appropriately, I am sickened by all of his salutations to Wes Hayden and for condemning ABC. Let me fill you in on a secret Reality Steve: It’s ABC’s show and they can do whatever they want. Wes Hayden was merely a pon in their ploy to win big ratings by exploiting idiots that sign up for these shows. No offense to anyone, I signed up, too (Who wants to Marry my Dad 2).
Let’s just set the record straight. Why would ABC have Wes come back to eploit more of his stupid “Love don’t come easy Cd’s” that are only going to be popular in Mexico? ABC got enough out of Wes and it was the only really compelling story going on as a threadline from beginning to the end. And, don’t slam my Miss Jillian. If Jillian does not end up married at the end of this show, this does not deem her a failure as society would so like women to believe they are nothing without men and a ring on their finger. Let’s not forget, she is the chooser and she can do whatever she wants. SHE REJECTS THEM IN THE END.
Stop bragging about hanging out with the biggest guy loser I’ve ever seen aired on national t.v. And, why be pissed off with ABC for rejecting insolent Wes in front of the cameras, finally!? Maybe ABC felt used by that dopehead, too.
Anyway, I was saddened to see that one of my favorite Reality bloggers didn’t even recap the show properly.
Too bad you got sideswiped by a loser that’s just a wannabe cowboy.
Cheers from a woman with a mind and a motive, Machel Penn -Southern California Columnist
